Top 5 Hospital Bag Must-Have Items

The Hospital Bag is to be taken in anticipation of the Hospital Stay; it should include all items needed for Hospital Care. The Hospital Bag can be personalized, but there are some items that are generally recommended – like comfortable clothing and toiletries. But what about things to make your stay easier? Here are 5 must-have items that will help you feel more at ease during this time:

1) Bring Your Own Pillow

This was the biggest thing I needed in my hospital bag and I forgot it my first day! I have a memory foam pillow, and I never stay anywhere without my pillow. I had my mother drive back home the day after the baby was born to bring me my pillow. Yes, the hospital has pillows, but it does not compare to my pillow! Having my pillow the second night made a huge difference in my sleep, and of course, sleep is the last thing you are getting with a newborn baby, so that little bit of good sleep helps immensely.

2) Bring Slippers

I HATE wearing socks. If you love wearing socks, then you will be fine with the hospital socks they give you. I, on the other hand, hate wearing socks if I am not wearing tennis shoes or boots. For me, bringing my own slippers in my hospital bag was perfect for getting out of bed and having to use the restroom.

3) Bring a Robe

Hospital gowns are not the comfiest things in the world. The hospital gown they give you during delivery was perfect just to deliver the baby. After delivery, I grabbed my hospital bag and grabbed my robe. The robe in the link above is the one I bought from Amazon and I loved it! It was perfect to breastfeed in and it was comfy. The best part is that they have multiple colors to choose from.

4) Shower Shoes

I am so glad I brought shower shoes, and by shower shoes I mean the $1 flip flops from Walmart. It was cheap and perfect for me to take a shower in and the best part is I can use them for other things! The hospitals are clean, but I still don’t feel comfortable showering where a million others have showered.

5) Bring Your Own Towel

The hospital has plenty of towels, especially if you want towels that feel like sandpaper on your skin. This was one thing I did not pack in my hospital bag that I wish I would have brought. After no sleep and taking a shower in the hospital, drying myself with sandpaper was awful. For my next pregnancy, I will definitely be bringing my own soft towels.

In the End…

By including these 5 Hospital Bag must-have items, your Hospital Stay can be as stress-free as possible. So pack up your Hospital Bag with these items before the big day so you have them ready for when you need it.

  1. I have been browsing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.

  2. Hi there! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could find a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having problems finding one? Thanks a lot!

    1. Hi! I, unfortunately, do not, but if I find one, I will let you know because it looks like I need one too!
