3 First Trimester Things I Wish I Had Done

After the first trimester, you realize there were things you wish you would have done from the very beginning.  You really do not realize how quickly the first trimester comes and goes.

1. Taken the Weekly Pregnancy Pictures

When I first found out I was pregnant, I told myself I was going to do the weekly pictures with the same outfit in the same location.  I wanted to see the progression and how much weight I had gained, but then life happened. A few weeks after I found out I was pregnant, I had to start packing to move.  Then the move actually happened, and of course, followed by the unpacking. Having to move, being pregnant, and vomiting 24/7 made the move last several weeks longer than it should have. It was a miracle I was able to do anything with how I felt.

2. Researched My OBGYN Instead of Going With a Recommendation

This was the one thing I regret the most.  Please if you do anything, research your OBGYN before choosing one.  If you have not read my blog on Why Did I Change Doctors Halfway Through My Pregnancy, please read it.  It is imperative that you go with a doctor that you feel comfortable with, otherwise, it will make your pregnancy experience horrible.  After a certain amount of weeks, some doctors will not see you so make sure you like your doctor before it’s too late.

3. Kept a Journal of My Experiences

I had wanted to document everything.  Keep track of how bad my nausea was, when I first felt the baby move for the first time, how I felt at the first ultrasound, etc.  It is impossible to go back now and write down when everything happened. I wanted to journal it for my son, but also for the future to see the similarities between this pregnancy and hopefully a second pregnancy in the future.
